What You’ll Be Doing
As Maintenance Manager, you’ll oversee all plant and facility maintenance across three shifts of our paint manufacturing operation; leading a team, solving problems, and driving performance. While you'll manage a broad range of responsibilities, this role leans heavily into electrical systems and automation technologies.
⚡ Electrical Systems & Automation
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain 3-phase electrical systems (480V), PLCs, VFDs, and other controls
- Ensure optimal performance of production equipment, mixers, dispensers, and filling systems
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance (PM) to avoid downtime
🤖 PLCs & Smart Factory Tech
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- Integrate smart technologies and support automation processes for batching and mixing
- Keep our plant connected with real-time data and efficient workflows
🧰 Tools, Tech & Team Management
- Lead and develop a crew of 5+ technicians across all shifts
- Use CMMS to track tasks, manage equipment history, and plan maintenance
- Monitor and manage spare parts, maintenance budgets, and contractor support
🏗 Facility & Equipment Oversight
- Under the direction of the Director of Engineering & Facilities, you will oversee maintenance for all local facilities, including production shipping, warehousing, R&D, and offices
- Perform or direct work involving carpentry, HVAC, pipefitting, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Stay proactive with inspections, audits, and continuous improvement suggestions
Physical & Environmental Expectations
- Frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 100 lbs)
- Work in varying temperatures (including up to 105°F in summer)
- Exposure to chemicals, fumes, humidity, and confined spaces
- Occasional elevated work and forklift/drum dolly operation
Communication
- Front line of communication with vendors, contractors, and other Tnemec staff in addressing and resolving issues and concerns
Tools of the Trade
- Pumps, agitators, motors, and high-speed dispersion equipment
- Forklifts, dollies, and hand tools
- Electrical schematics, PLCs, VFDs, and more

Qualifications
What You’ll Need to Bring
✅ Skills & Knowledge
- Strong experience with 480V, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial electrical systems
- Hands-on knowledge of CMMS tools and preventive maintenance processes
- Ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot systems, and think critically under pressure
- Comfortable working in hot, dusty, noisy environments and solving problems in real time
📚 Education & Experience
- 5 plus years of proven leadership experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Experience in a manufacturing or paint production environment is a major plus
- Technical certification, college degree or combination of education and/or experience
- OSHA 10/30 certification, lock out/tag out training, and safety credentials are a big advantage
