Ceramic-Modified Waterborne Aliphatic Polyurethane

Common Usage

Low odor, fast dry, low VOC, waterborne polyurethane coating for wall and floor applications. Provides enhanced abrasion resistance, stain resistance and color stability. This user friendly product has easy application and clean-up characteristics and may be applied over a properly prepared aged coating (test patch is recommended for compatibility). The resin used to manufacture this product was a recipient of the EPA's "Green Chemistry Challenge Award.

Recommended DFT

2.0 to 3.0 mils (50 to 75 microns) per coat. Note: Application of coating below minimum or above maximum recommended dry film thicknesses may adversely affect coating aesthetics and performance. Number of coats and thickness requirements will vary with substrate, application method and exposure. Contact your Tnemec representative.

Primers

Concrete: Series 27WB, 66, L69, L69F, N69, N69F, V69, V69F, 104, 113•, 114•, 154, 156•, 161, 201, 205, 208, 233, 237, 238, 270, 273, 280, 280FC, 281, 287, 1224. •For use on vertical surfaces only. Note: Two coats are required over Series 201 and 208 primer to ensure proper hide and coverage. Certain products listed above may be suitable for use as intermediate coats. Contact your Tnemec Representative for complete system recommendations. When applying Series 297 over a broadcast or mortar system, an epoxy grout coat is required.
CMU: Series 130, 154, 156, 218, 1254. Intermediate coat required (any of the above).
Drywall: Series 27WB, 151, 154, 280, 280FC, 287, 1224.
Steel: Series 27, 27WB, 66, L69, L69F, N69, N69F, V69, V69F, 104, 161, 287, 1224.
Galvanized Steel and Non-Ferrous Metal: Series 27WB, 66, L69, N69, V69, 1224. Note: For special galvanized surface preparation instructions, consult the latest version of Tnemec Technical Bulletin 10-78.
Wood: Series 27WB, 151, 154, 287.

Note: A minimum recoat of 24 hours at 75°F (24°C) applies when using Series 27WB or 1224. Reference the Series 27WB or 1224 product data sheet for additional cure information. More than one finish coat of Series 297 is required when used over Series 27WB or 1224 to achieve uniform and desired gloss level.

Finish

Gloss - Note: Final gloss level of topcoat can vary depending on number of coats applied. One coat will generally result in a lower sheen than two coats of the material.
